Just like every past year, here's the deal: Some people (I'm sure you know at least one) are difficult when it comes to gifting. Since it went over rather well last year, I've compiled a little gift guide for the guys shopping for that special lady. So here are a few nifty things that the lady in your life may appreciate. I don't claim that any of these are really great gifts for the woman for whom you're shopping, but they're nifty. Ok, so: This little tech kit is great for the woman on the go. Ok, so: My wife got me this a few years ago and it is one my favorite additions to my library. It makes it MY library.   Cotton Candy, FO DAYZZZZZ . Yep, that's it.  Elevate your kitchen towels , or elevate a friend's kitchen towels. Florence Welch, a magical singer, published a gorgeous book of poetry and lyrics this year and I bet you know a music lover that would like to have it.   If you know anyone that fancies themselves a mixologist, but needs some help, check this out.  Have a music lover in your life that loves b...

So, as in years past, here's the deal- Some people (I'm sure you know at least one) are difficult when it comes to gifting. So to make it easy on you, I find random, nifty things that I think would make cool gifts and I share them with you. Buy one for yourself, buy one for a friend, buy one for a lover, buy none. I don't get any money from sharing these with you, I just think these things are cool and unique. Sound good?  Ok, so: Do you know a guy in your life that needs a quality timepiece without breaking the bank? Hamilton is one of America's heritage brands that has been around since 1912. So, here's the deal- Some people (I'm sure you know one) are difficult when it comes to gifting. SO to make it easy, I find random, nifty things that I think would make cool gifts and I share them with you. Buy one for yourself, buy one for a friend, buy one for a lover, buy none. I don't get any money from sharing these with you, I just think these things are cool and unique. Sound good? Ok, so: Shinola makes one of finest American timepieces in the world, from the heart of Detroit. Also, they aren't prohibitively expensive. Check out the Shinola Runwell for a unique timepiece with a great story.  Some people have immense pride in the place in which they live. Let them show it in a unique way with these coasters .  Apple isn't a perfect company. In fact, the design of the laptop chargers has been pretty abysmal over the years. Here's how you fit your charger behind something , because it sticks out way too far, otherwise. I mean, you can drink and pla...

2014 Mr. Bijoy Holiday Gift Guide!

I'm not sure how many years I've been doing these, but this is the latest, possibly largest installment. These are a few cool things that I think would be great gifts for guys. There's a little something here for almost everyone, or at least I think so. There's no organization to this list, so don't expect that. So, here we go! Apparently, puffy jackets are cool again. I can't, in the right mind, recommend one that doesn't both look good and is incredibly functional. My choice is the Cirq Pax 700 Downfill Jacket . You can find them on sale all over the place, so don't think you have to stick to the price shown in the link.  Your flight attendant might make a good drink, if you ask. More often than not, you'll get a can of mixer and a small bottle of alcohol. So why not step your "drunk on a plane" game up and get the Carry-On Cocktail Kit ? It'll make you the coolest guy on the airplane.     Want a t ruly smart bluetooth speaker ?...

5 things I have, that I love. Or, a last-minute gift guide.

Every so often, I get compliments and questions about some of the things I own. A lot of them are from people who want to purchase such things for people in their lives. So, this post is a quck reference point for such things. Also, this can serve some of you as a gift guide for presents for the man in your life. Enjoy! Coach Bleecker Card Case & Clip - Some people have wallet issues, and I used to be one of those people. I had a back-problem-causing, George Costanza-style folio in my back pocket. Luckily, I was led down a better path. That of a clean, simple card case with money clip. I love this thing. It's versatile and surprisingly durable. Also, it's a good deal, considering it's a quality leather good. Kenneth Cole Mens Electric Rain Boot - It's rains and it snows where I live. It's the midwest. So when I went searching for a rain boot that wasn't awful, I found something different from a designer I happen to like. Pair this with a heavy wool soc...

2013 Mr. Bijoy Holiday Gift Guide!

Every year, I write a few blog posts about things that I think you should get the people in your life. Well, I'm tired of that. This year I'm only writing this one post with a handful of things that I think sound pretty nifty and that I probably wouldn't mind getting. So here it goes!!! Mission Workshop Zurich Hoodie - Literally the best damn zippered hoodie available. Expensive? Yes. Indestructible? Also, yes. Malin + Goetz Pill Towels - They hydraulically compress towels into pill size for your travel needs. It's basically a real-life Jetsons thing.  The Bushmills Grado Headphones - Whiskey. Music. Recycled Bushmills barrels fashioned into high-quality studio headsets. I really shouldn't have to elaborate. Brazuca Official Matchball - Can't go to the World Cup but really want a piece of it? Here's ADIDAS official ball for the games. Jack Spade Conway Watch - Know someone who neeeds a great everyday watch without breaking the bank? Simple, clean ...

Mr. Bijoy's 2012 Holiday Gift Guide: Home Kitchen

I work in food. It's something I love. Often, people ask me about what they should get their "foodie" friends or family members as gifts. Now, I can't tell anyone what their friends and family need or should-have, but I know of some really cool things for the kitchen that may work. So here we go! One thing that people never think that they will actually use, actually want, but more importantly, kind of need, in the kitchen is a proper cast-iron skillet . Seriously. It's been a culinary staple for longer than a lot of countries, including the US, have existed. A restaurant-style rotary cheese grater is cool, but it isn't pretty. Until now . Fresh herbs are pretty great. But if you buy them from the store, storage can be a pain. Here's a really cool herb keeper that solves the issues of herb storage and looks fairly elegant in doing so.  I know a few people that collect salt & pepper shakers. So this one's for them.   Knives. Everyone is alw...

Mr. Bijoy's 2012 Holiday Gift Guide: Ultimate Gear

So here's the thing - Sometimes it's difficult getting gifts for a guy who has a tendency to just buy the things that he wants. Therefore, I thought I'd compile this "Ultimate Gear" edition of the gift guide for those who have this dilemma. Also, this stuff is pretty damn cool. Sound good? Ok. Everyone knows that person who loves being the guy with a bottle-opener on hand at all times. The problem at hand is that a key-chain bottle-opener or a large bartender tool isn't all that much fun. To add, I don't want my keys being passed around to open up everyone's beer. So, for a soltion, check this out- Titanium Sunglasses . Classic style, awesome functionality. Just don't let them wear these inside at night. That's stupid. Ok, carrying around a camera everywhere is a pain in the ass. To add, it seems like phone-based cameras are taking off, both in functionality and convenience. However, sometimes, the quality is just appalling. So, some folks o...
