Mr. Bijoy's 2017 Gift Guide Pt. 2 (for the lady in your life)

Image
By request, I've compiled a little gift guide for the guys shopping for that special lady. So here are a few nifty things that the lady in your life may appreciate. I don't claim that any of these are really great gifts for the woman for whom you're shopping, but they're nifty. Ok, so: Does your lady take her phone's camera to new levels of photographic artistry? Get her this really cool clip-on lens to up her game. It's pretty cool.  Celebs sure wear a lot of fun necklaces, but they're all so expensive. Get the style without the price right here . She might love it.   You got a badass on your hands? This. Ever thought about getting your special woman a bag or a tote but feel like you have no idea what you're doing? Get this one. It's classic, fashionable, and notable. All-day lounging comfort is awesome. So is this ridiculously nice robe . It's on a level of Olaf-likes-warm-hugs stuff.  These may not be the cutest thing out there, bu...

Mr. Bijoy's 2017 Gift Guide Pt. 1

So, as in years past, here's the deal- Some people (I'm sure you know at least one) are difficult when it comes to gifting. So to make it easy on you, I find random, nifty things that I think would make cool gifts and I share them with you. Buy one for yourself, buy one for a friend, buy one for a lover, buy none. I don't get any money from sharing these with you, I just think these things are cool and unique. Sound good?  Ok, so: Do you know a guy in your life that needs a quality timepiece without breaking the bank? Hamilton is one of America's heritage brands that has been around since 1912. Try this watch out for casual style that can easily pair with a tuxedo for a black-tie affair.  Have a baseball fan in your life? The New York Times has compiled baseball history books , by team, to make this year's gift giving easy. They're awesome, and they're beautiful. For that wine enthusiast in your life, check out this classic corkscrew that blend...

So, here's the deal- Some people (I'm sure you know one) are difficult when it comes to gifting. SO to make it easy, I find random, nifty things that I think would make cool gifts and I share them with you. Buy one for yourself, buy one for a friend, buy one for a lover, buy none. I don't get any money from sharing these with you, I just think these things are cool and unique. Sound good? Ok, so: Shinola makes one of finest American timepieces in the world, from the heart of Detroit. Also, they aren't prohibitively expensive. Check out the Shinola Runwell for a unique timepiece with a great story.  Some people have immense pride in the place in which they live. Let them show it in a unique way with these coasters .  Apple isn't a perfect company. In fact, the design of the laptop chargers has been pretty abysmal over the years. Here's how you fit your charger behind something , because it sticks out way too far, otherwise. I mean, you can drink and pla...

2014 Mr. Bijoy Holiday Gift Guide!

I'm not sure how many years I've been doing these, but this is the latest, possibly largest installment. These are a few cool things that I think would be great gifts for guys. There's a little something here for almost everyone, or at least I think so. There's no organization to this list, so don't expect that. So, here we go! Apparently, puffy jackets are cool again. I can't, in the right mind, recommend one that doesn't both look good and is incredibly functional. My choice is the Cirq Pax 700 Downfill Jacket . You can find them on sale all over the place, so don't think you have to stick to the price shown in the link.  Your flight attendant might make a good drink, if you ask. More often than not, you'll get a can of mixer and a small bottle of alcohol. So why not step your "drunk on a plane" game up and get the Carry-On Cocktail Kit ? It'll make you the coolest guy on the airplane.     Want a t ruly smart bluetooth speaker ?...

2013 Mr. Bijoy Holiday Gift Guide!

Every year, I write a few blog posts about things that I think you should get the people in your life. Well, I'm tired of that. This year I'm only writing this one post with a handful of things that I think sound pretty nifty and that I probably wouldn't mind getting. So here it goes!!! Mission Workshop Zurich Hoodie - Literally the best damn zippered hoodie available. Expensive? Yes. Indestructible? Also, yes. Malin + Goetz Pill Towels - They hydraulically compress towels into pill size for your travel needs. It's basically a real-life Jetsons thing.  The Bushmills Grado Headphones - Whiskey. Music. Recycled Bushmills barrels fashioned into high-quality studio headsets. I really shouldn't have to elaborate. Brazuca Official Matchball - Can't go to the World Cup but really want a piece of it? Here's ADIDAS official ball for the games. Jack Spade Conway Watch - Know someone who neeeds a great everyday watch without breaking the bank? Simple, clean ...

Mr. Bijoy's 2012 Holiday Gift Guide: Cigars

Image
In the first installment of this year's gift guide, I present to you cigars. The past three years of gift guides have had a cigar guide, so I thought his would be the best place to start! So here are my choices for cigars that would make great gifts for the cigar smoker on your Christmas list - Winston Churchill No. 10 - A Davidoff cigar with a great, earthy profile. A great addition to any humidor Davidoff 100 Years Geneva - A carry-over from last year's list, I can't do justice in explaining this complex cigar. It's great. Bolivar Royal Corona - Spicy and splendid with the right amount of power. This is the cigar I like to gift most often. It speaks to most of the cigar smokers in my life.  La Flor Dominicana Air Bender Chisel - Bold, strong, beautiful. I love this smoke. If you have a cigar smoker in your life that appreciates cigars with a little heft, this is a great choice! Camacho Diploma- Another great smoke for the cigar smoker who appreciates a heartier...

2011 Holiday Gift Guide: Cigars

Image
If you've been following along here, you know that I have mild love-affair with cigars. Ok, it's more than a "mild" love-affair. I love those sticks of fermented tobacco. Now, among my circle of friends, I'm the guy everyone goes to when they need a cigar suggestion for their dads, brothers, cousins, bosses, crushes, etc. In light of this, this year I'm writing a separate, cigar-based gift guide for all of those who may need such help. My "rare" suggestions: Fonseca CXX - A great mix of spicy and smooth with a nutty finish. Get the Corona size. Davidoff 100 Years Geneva - I can't do justice in explaining this complex cigar. It's great. My general suggestions: Rocky Patel Zen - A really smooth, almost creamy cigar. A great price-point here as well. Le Bijou 1922 Box Pressed Torpedo - Just make sure to get the torpedo here. Worth it. Hammer & Sickle Moscow City - It's a bitch to keep lit, but it's tasty. My loves: Arturo Fuente Hemi...
