You should get a toaster oven

Image
The model which I own Hello friends, Often, I get asked what's my favorite appliance in my kitchen. Now, I don't have the most illustrious kitchen setup and most people assume that I'll respond to the question with either my Vita-Mix or my girlfriend's KitchenAid Stand Mixer. However, that's not the case at all. I love my toaster oven. I think everyone should own one. There, I said it. Allow me to go a bit further here. A standard toaster toasts bread. It might handle a bagel, but not a thick, or topped, bagel. English muffins are sometimes too small for a standard toaster and one is forced to fish out the muffin, rather dangerously, with whatever is on hand at the time. To me, that's a lot of counter space for something with so few functions. In steps a toaster oven.  The biggest complaint I get about toaster ovens is that they just don't toast bread very well. In a lot of cases, that's true. You generally need to step up to a better toaster ...

SpeedStick GEAR Review (Clean Peak Scent)

Image
So, I received a complimentary trial of SpeedStick GEAR from Influenster last week. As agreed upon, I gave it a shot. I'm on my fifth day of use now, and I'm not very impressed. The scent is not bad at all, but it is quite strong, but I think it's by design. Instead of a controlled or layered scent release, SpeedStick GEAR relies on the scent to dissipate over time. As for product performance, I didn't see a difference in this from my usual deodorant. The 48-hour protection claim may be sufficient if the wearer engages in little no physical activity over the course of the 48 hours. I tested this, under stress of moderate weight-lifting and HIIT cardio sessions and it did nothing out of the ordinary. Mind you, as a product that was given to me to test, I am unaware of what it costs. If it sold as a premium deodorant, I wouldn't pay the extra money to purchase it. So, as a deodorant/antiperspirant, it's not bad, but it's nothing special.

Brussel Sprouts, tastier than you remember

Image
Here's the thing, brussel sprouts don't suck. However, if they are overcooked or mushy, they do suck. So, try this recipe to make healthy, happy brussel sprouts! And no, your mother did not tell me to post this. What ya need: 1 1/2 cups of fresh brussel sprouts 3 roughly chopped shallots 1/4 tablespoon of olive oil 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper 1/8 teaspoon of crushed red pepper Ok, so: Bring about 2 cups of lightly salted water to a boil in a large pot. Insert a steamer basket filled with the brussel sprouts. Cover and let steam for 7 minutes. Remove them from the pot and set aside in bowl. Now, in a heavy pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the sprouts, shallots, black pepper, and crushed red pepper. Cook until brown, being careful not to stir too often, as this might break the brussel sprouts apart. Serve immediately and enjoy!
